I think it just depends the TV you have.  I couldn't see much difference between 720p vs 1080 on a 40" sony bravia but when I bought a bigger TV(55"), the differences for me were very noticeable.  I agree that 900p and 1080p looks almost identical.

I just upgraded from a 32" to a 42". (My old one died)

I can see a difference between 720p vs 1080p, I just don't find it to be a that big of a deal. Like, when I'm playing I don't really think about it.
