This was my first testfire, but my stat was definitely the "covering area while refilling your ink quickly" one. I would squirt in the air, then swim to refill, jump out into the ink while shooting, rinse and repeat. I think it worked really well.
I also took down a fair number of rollers. I find that it's easy to shoot at them while backing away. It's just important to be aware of your surroundings when it comes to that kind of enemy.
Edit: Just remembered that I did the third strat a lot near the end also.
