I don't like either one.
720 sounded logical at the time, but it could have signified spinning in circles, and in today's environment could have been bad PR due to all the resolution controversies.
One turned out to be a better choice, but only because MS put a good effort to explain it and market it. At first, it could have caused confusion for people thinking it refers to the first XBox, luckily Microsoft explained it well (especially in the aftermath of the WiiU naming confusion).
Had Win10 been released earlier, XBox 10 would have been a perfect name.
