| ckmlb said: So far all the big companies that are supporting the Wii have announced either mini game collections or secondary games. I want to see Take Two and Ubisoft to make big Wii-specific games that are built ground up on the Wii and for its controls and aren't just fun party games. Still not seeing that, these companies making Wii games makes sense when Wii is selling well but are they all gonna be cash in titles? Are we gonna see some good stuff? Give me one big game from 3rd parties that isn't a spinoff outside of No More Heroes and Manhunt 2 (a PS2 port). |
Manhunt 2 isn't a PS2 port. Rockstart stated specifically that the Wii was the primary SKU, and the PS2 was a downgraded version of the Wii game.
We don't know what these developers are going to make yet. The effects of the recently anounced shifts in support won't be visible till 2008. As far as another big 3rd party game: Square Enix has Dragon Quest Swords and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers. Watch the video and tell me they aren't putting huge amounts of development effort into that game. Again, we jsut don't know yet. The amount of 3rd party Wii minigames aren't nearly as big as people like to make them out to be. Stuff like Rygar, Guilty Gears (granted a remake, but with updated graphcis, audio, controls, and new features/characters), FF:CC, RE:UC, Manhunt 2, and No More Heroes we are seeing some early 3rd party support that doesn't involve minigames. On the other hand, I challenge you to name 6 3rd party minigames comming out for the Wii (or that have been made).
