SSBB selling 12.6 was because the hype and expectations. I won't deny that the userbase added some sales, but how much?

SSB N64 sold 5.55 and SSBM 7.07 on NGC according to Vgchartz.

Also, I remember you adding both SSBB 3DS+U versions, that are already above 10M, so not the same case.

And about the 3D Mario comparision, it is not always the case, exactly, and there are games like Mario that doesn't have to feel limited by the userbase as their mission is to increase it.
