Just in year two. The PS360 libraries weren't great this early in their life. People forget that and only compare 8th gen to the entire 7th gen.

The library by itself looks like it doesn't lack diversity until you compare it to the competion.

Compare the exclusive games and their genres in both consoles libraries. There's not much point in counting 3rd party because it's shared by both.

First, let's do a head count

PS4

Exclusive = 45

Sony Exclusive = 52

Console exclusive and/or timed = 99/4

Multiplatform/or TBA = 265/0

Playable = 181 available to purchase

Xbox One

Exclusive = 36

Microsoft exclusive = 15

Console exclusive or timed = 31/8

Multiplatform/TBA = 264/5

Playable = 174 available to purchase

So if we tallied it up to see how many games there are in each genre for both consoles..... Wait a sec....

My main point in this whole thing is that the xbox one is severely lacking rpg's compared to the PS4 and that xbox one's library of games is starting to look like previous xboxes' game libraries. Lack of diversity. Not many RPG's. That very well may change or not. Who knows. I'm not being outragious or illogical with this.

No. Going by that logic, Xbox 360 had literally hundreds of games not on PS3, above 70 on metacritic, which offcourse includes XBLA, 360/PC games, and exclusives. But you hardly see people calling 360 the gamers console of choice over PS3.

I learned that lists are wrong because they have clutter. System sellers are grouped with under-the-radar indies. you also lack context. Are your lists all quality games, because Id make sure they are all at least above 70 on metacritic, because counting "bad" games to inflate your list only hurts your case.

My sig is an example of the games that core gamers actually care about. Xbox One has a fighter.........a VERY rare genre to have as an exclusive, which PS4 won't have until next year with SF5. PS4 doesn't have Dead Rising 3, an open world zombie slayer.  A racing sim and a open-world arcade racer versus a arcade racer Drive Club. Also consider that Xbox One will have 2 sims out before PS4 even gets one with GT7.  Project Spark versus LBP 3 (tied in this regard). Sunset Overdrive vs Infamous. Titanfall vs Killzone. Halo MCC vs LOU (remakes). PS4 recently got Bloodborne which is a nice boost.

Just saying Xbox One is holding its own in variety and arguably has it better, at least when talking about games that define the system. Calling RPGs "severely lacking" is a gross overstatement, considering 3rd party rpg libraries are nearly identical except Bloodborne edging PS4 out.

Gross overstatement, huh?

Compare how many exclusive rpg's there are on both consoles.

Most likely, you'll mention something about the 3rd party RPG's being enough for core xbox gamers. That's not the case with the majority of the gamers.
