Just stop and use your head. I'd say PS4 has more diversity doesn't mean the X1 lacks diversity. X1 has a JRPG from Square Enix (FF Type-0) and a few more coming from them. Either way its not a genre Xbox fans really care about for obvious reasons. X1 has numerous RPGs already. Dragon Age, Witcher 3, Dark Souls 2, Lords of Fallen, Diablo 3, and others are coming. I'm not even including some shooter/rpg titles. New IPs? Titanfall, Ryse, Ori, D4, Crimson Dragon, Lococycle, Project Spark, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive, Scalecound, Screamride, and others are inevitably coming. Those are new IPs MS has/is either developing, pushing, and/or funding. So again, the X1 doesn't lack diversity and we're just in year two. The PS360 libraries weren't great this early in their life. People forget that and only compare 8th gen to the entire 7th gen. |
The library by itself looks like it doesn't lack diversity until you compare it to the competion.
Compare the exclusive games and their genres in both consoles libraries. There's not much point in counting 3rd party because it's shared by both.
First, let's do a head count
PS4
Exclusive = 45
Sony Exclusive = 52
Console exclusive and/or timed = 99/4
Multiplatform/or TBA = 265/0
Playable = 181 available to purchase
Xbox One
Exclusive = 36
Microsoft exclusive = 15
Console exclusive or timed = 31/8
Multiplatform/TBA = 264/5
Playable = 174 available to purchase
So if we tallied it up to see how many games there are in each genre for both consoles..... Wait a sec....
My main point in this whole thing is that the xbox one is severely lacking rpg's compared to the PS4 and that xbox one's library of games is starting to look like previous xboxes' game libraries. Lack of diversity. Not many RPG's. That very well may change or not. Who knows. I'm not being outragious or illogical with this.
