Pitch Perfect 2 is a sequel to a relatively recent hit movie that was very funny and its trailers demonstrate that it continues that tradition.

Mad Max is a sequel to a movie series that died off 20 years ago and its trailer looks meh.

Why is this hard to understand?

Because Mad Max is really, really good.

That will probably reflect in its legs. Word of Mouth.
