I believe that Motion Controls hurt the reputation of Nintendo and Xbox.  A large portion of the gamers that Motion Controls appealed to were casuals that abandoned the market for mobile games.  On the oppoite spectrum motion controls turned off hardcore gamers that are still here

Considering it significantly improved the reputation of Nintendo by bringing it to the forefront of the industry, after its kid cube, this is obviously wrong.

And now that reputation is gone and worse than ever; how has motion control helped them in the long run? The brightest flame burns quickest, and they have now been forced to scramble to come up with a viable plan for the future since their massive cash-cow was only temporary.
