tldr...?

this be just like the Da vinci code book, Millenium trilogy, 50 shades and so on... When millions of people say it is great it is nothing but mediocre crap that everyone can swallow apparently.
At least, the more praise i hear, the more afraid i become that is what happened to Mad Max.

Tells you something about my faith in humanity the past decade.

The problem with what you just said is that all those films are based on the books. Unless you are referring to the books themselves. Mad Max: Fury Road is directed by the guy who made all the other Mad Max films. This is Mad Max and a sequel that has been envisioned but faithful to the original script of 1993. This is George Millers vision. I think you should watch the movie before making a judgement on this and you should read what I said because one of the reasons everyone is praising this film so much is because of the lack of CGI and the fact almost every stunt in this movie was performed in real time. Most of the actors were stuntmen and those who were actors were put into insane situations for the filming of this movie. Every vehicle you see was made fully functional and driving in real time while they filmed the movie. They made 150 and over 80 were destroyed in the process of filming. The whole process of making this movie is incredibly impressive and one of the first films to do this in decades and the pay off was huge.
