I really don't see the problem to give the kickstarter backers a low entry price for their support. They pay years in advance for the game and have the risk that the game turns out bad or mediocre. With a higher price many supporters would just wait for the end product.

And the normal price for the non-supporters will be higher (if the game is good), just look at the retail prices of Giana Sisters, which started at $10 at Kickstarter:
