| “It will become important for us to accurately take advantage of what we have done with the Wii U architecture,” Iwata said. “It of course does not mean that we are going to use exactly the same architecture as Wii U, but we are going to create a system that can absorb the Wii U architecture adequately. When this happens, home consoles and handheld devices will no longer be completely different, and they will become like brothers in a family of systems.” |
Let’s unpack what Iwata was saying here. He’s specifically talking about the merging of home and portable systems, and creating something that can “absorb the WiiU - 3DS architecture
In my opinion NX will be a "bridge device" between 3DS/WiiU, it will be a "Games Library online" contain games of two dedicated gaming system above, so you can play Wii U/3DS games everywhere you go with your 3DS/WiiU on another device as long as we have a network
That means you just need to buy a 3DS or Wii U and a NX device (with maybe cheaper price) instead of both Wii U and 3DS to play games on both systems
And when Nintendo with DeNa done the job with Nintendo Network account system, we can purchase/rent Nintendo games on PC/Smartphone/3DS/WiiU/etc whenever we want
This device has an OS which compatible with previous and next-gen hanndheld/console so in the future you can see people still playing handheld game on a Nintendo console and contrary
With a larger libary like that, gamers will absolutely buy it
That's what I think
