Originality: This game felt like a combination of Assassins’ Creed and Shadows of Mordor. Overall, the ‘feel’ of a super powered assassin in a game now days isn’t exactly new or refreshing, but a dystopian medieval society that is plagued by rats, extremely fashionable, yet corrupt, nobles, as well as zombie-like weepers, and witches that look like Ivy from Batman all the while incorporating elements of horror, weird mystical sequences, as well as music that sounds like it’s from a modern Sherlock Holmes movie/series makes for an interesting combination. I couldn’t help but think to myself that this game just felt ‘fresh’ while playing it. I loved the main game (except for the fake that it felt a bit short), but I particularly loved how both dlc campaigns added new gameplay/story elements to the overall Dishonored game. Refreshing, yet not revolutionary!

Graphics:
On par with most from that period, but it’s clear they were going for a more stylistic game than one focused on sharp details.

Art Style: I loved this dystopian-medieval style to this game. It totally felt right!

Story: Wow. This game had a lot of plot twists. SPOILER ALERT***** I didn’t expect the Empress to die at the beginning, I sort of expected it to be one of the powerful two guys (the Regent and the other guy) but I didn’t know I was going to be set up (the title of the game should have indicated that to me lol), I didn’t expect for the lord Regents death to be a part of a conspiracy to control Emily and, ultimately, dispose of me, and I didn’t expect to encounter the assassin after taking out the last of the corrupt politicians/military dudes. A LOT of unexpected turns, and that’s just the main game; the dlc campaigns had twists of their own. I loved the setting of the story and I loved how little clues about the world were all around you in character dialogue/notes. I loved how certain questions were not answered (stories are always better if stuff is left to the imagination of the reader/viewer/player). Still, the whole “the Queen died so now save the princess and restore the kingdom” thing has gotten kind of old.

Game Interface: I was a little annoyed how, when you want to switch left hand items/skills, you don’t pause fully (it just goes in slow motion), yet the screen blocks your view from seeing which enemies are doing what. That doesn’t seem like it be too much of an issue, but it caused me to die/almost die at least a handful of times.
3/5
Controls easy and fluid or difficult and rigid? I never could figure out the y assassination button thing (I played pc version using 360 controller) but I won’t blame the game (I just didn’t take the time to figure out what I was doing wrong.
5/5
Is it fun? All 22 hours of it or so! And that includes dlc. It never gets repetitive or boring because it isn’t terribly long and repetitive like other games are (********************COUGH PROJECT X ZONE COUGH***********************)
