Now ask yourself will this game have so much of a fun factor that you can see yourself playing throughout the summer and keep on inking for the rest of the year? If yes then $70 wont feel like a steep price. Especially since throughout the summer we'll be getting more and more of splatoon.
And ask yourself this, what other game can you ink your girls in and use tentacles?? :P |
Loll, all the lewd jokes aside, this really would have been a hard sell for me if the single player wasn't 5-7 hours long because at $70, I really gotta compare it to other games like Cod for example.
Cod has like 12 different* modes, has way more weapons, perks, kill streaks and etc, has way more maps at launch (14-15), has not only private matches but custom private matches, has a 6-7 hour single player and has "horde mode," and has voice chat (which isn't a big deal for me).
If we compare that to splatoon... Splatoon has 3 online modes, has less weapons and etc, has less maps at launch (5), doesn't have custom servers at all but will have private servers by the looks of it and we didn't know how long the single player was going to be and of course, doesn't have horde mode and doesn't have voice chat (which isn't a big deal for me)
Now we can of course say the whole "splatoon is unique" and it is, it really is. It is quite unique and fun and etc but is its uniqueness enough to justify $70 when other games that cost $70 has more stuff but are less unique? I would argue not really (before the length of the single player got revealed).
With that being said, since it now has a 5-7 hour single player, it is very justifiable for me because I am willing to overlook some of its issues because it is very unique and fun compared to many other shooters these days, its just before this, I couldn't really justify it.
But now that I am on board... I hope the kids are ready for penis shapes everywhere yar har har
