| RolStoppable said: E3 disappoints more often than not. It's normal that it disappoints regardless of which conferences you decide to watch. Take 2012. Lots of excitement and the usual fights regarding who will win between Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft. Then it was one dud after another and Ubisoft was declared the winner on the basis of Watch Dogs. Yes, Watch Dogs. I am not joking. 2013 was such a flop that the company who put online multiplayer behind a paywall was declared the winner. That shows how messed up it is. You get to win E3 by virtue of not having an outright disastrous showing. 2014... that was last year. Only one year ago. I don't recall anything worth of note. E3 is nothing more than a ritual that gets hyped up because it used to mean something at some point. But almost everything gets leaked beforehand, so there's hardly anything new at all. Let it go, people. E3 is garbage. |
We're just old. Jaded. Spent.
But when you're a Nintendo fan you almost always only get info during E3. It may not be mind blowing, but it's the only time this company really shows its cards. We're usually left wanting them to show more, which has less to do with our appetite and more to do with the relative lack of their offerings. Either way, though...at least we finally get something. And the fanboy wars are icing on the cake.
