With RPGs numbers don't matter, but who the fanbase is.
If a console is able to take hold of a certain fanbase than it makes that console the obvious choice regardless of overall players. That's why games like Carnival Games will sell well only on Wii, it has that puzzle loving fanbase.
I imagine that the PS3 will get some SRPG with games like Disgaea 3 and Valkyria Chronicles getting those hardcore SRPG fans on board who will buy all the SRPGs that come out.
