I see OP points, but last year MS played a lot of crazy deals and the price cut to cut the lead, so they can always do the same this year. But I also believe that Sony will have something in their bags for this holiday too. I doubt they will be taken by surprise just like they were last year.
So I expect MS to win holiday season but not just enough to cut the lead or even overtake it.
