Same here. The nunchuk thing I can live with it, but the lack of splitscreen multiplayer really bothers me. I'm still getting it day one, but they really should've included that option. My twin brother comes home every 4 months from Congo were he works and we spend a lot of time playing online multiplayer (MKart, SSBros, CoD:BOs2). Specially CoD:BOS2 is because we play one on tv and one on gamepad and it's excellent. They should implement this option in Splatoon. Specially Nintendo being pro-local multiplayer and all. i just don't get it.
