I think I read somewhere (but can't remember where; probably in another thread here) that Nintendo does all VC porting itself and that they have an agreement with the publisher on whom gets what share. That's supposedly the reason why we're not getting SNES games anymore. Not because some publishers aren't interested in releasing any more SNES games on VC, but because Nintendo has moved on to porting from other systems because SNES games don't sell that hot (for that price) and GBA & N64 games do. So I think that as long as Konami IS in the games business, we will be getting VC releases of their games. Or at least as long as they have some form of contract with Nintendo which means that they don't have to do much work, and will bear the fruits of these rereleases. Who knows, there may come a day that we'll see Legacy of Darkness released on VC (here's hoping!) |
It's obviously more complicated than that, or we'd have all the missing Square and Enix games.
