Seems like it's getting in some bad shape or at least some of it is, I don't think some japanese companies are happy that Western devs are slowly taking their ground with home consoles in their area not being as popular as they once were and PC gaming isn't exactly a big hit there either so I can see why they go with mobile gaming, to them it must look like some untapped market they could become relevant in and control, if you think a decade or two ago before Xbox joined the Japanese were at the complete center of attention and control when it came to gaming but now thw West took a good chunk from them.
I wish they'd put up more competition and effort but I honestly think at this point most of them have just given up and are now just resorting to mobile gaming to fall back on, I believe their biggest issue is them failing to adapt to the current trends gaming is presenting along with other platforms that were once small and have now grown to massive sizes and they can't seem to adjust to that.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
