So basically... When PC games have DRM... Its considered bad but when PC games don't have DRM, its also bad? Cause that is what I am getting from some of the users in this thread.. You can't fight piracy without DRM but you can't "own" (vaguely) the game with DRM so make up ur minds on what you want to do...

I also don't get what's the big deal with this? The pirates can't actually play the game before launch because the .exe is not there. All this is, is a pre-load. What the pirates can do is play it at the sametime as everyone else which they couldn't do before because they had to wait for the hackers to crack the DRM before they could play it, that is the only advantage to this case... Every game gets a pre-load release on torrent sites before the games come out regardless of DRM, there is nothing new about that, the ONLY thing that is different in this case is that there isn't a drm for the hackers to crack so everyone, including the pirates, get to play the game on the sameday

It is very rare for a developer to not have DRM on PC and that is why I admire the devs of the witcher 3. If you bought the physical version of the game, there is no steam key or anything, it is a legit physical version which is very rare these days with PCs.
