Yeah, but they had no choice.
Even with the reveal of the NX, I read a couple of articles (that were later removed) stating that Nintendo was leaving the console market. Imagine what would have happened if they didn't announce that they were working on the NX!

Yeah, I'm aware of that hence why I said it's just an unfortunate position. They had to reassure, it just sucks because it actually does damage to other things.
