Of course it wont. It'll be just like Wii Us final pitch.

There will be a Nintendo Direct in Q1 2016, likely March, that will be the initial blow out of information on the console(s), overall UI / featureset, tie-in to mobile technology, and "Holiday 2016" launch. Maybe we'll see a tech demo or something more specific like Zelda (think twilight princess launch).

Then a Nintendo Direct for E3 that will detail all final information, dates, price, and of course games for the "launch period" in Holiday 2016 and Q1 2017.

It doesn't make sense to make a Direct for that, it would be as pointless as the latest DIrect NoA did for Xenoblade X.

A better place to start talking about that new concept would be during its investors meeting or, even better, at GDC.

How would a ND about an entirely new platform be pointless?

I was talking about the first of your Directs, the one in Q1 2016, no the one at E3 where Nintendo will of course talk about it.

And it doesn't make sense because that would spoil much of the surprise of the console. It would, for example, let us know quite clearly if we are talking about a handheld, a home console or something in between.

That's why GDC is a better place, because they can talk about what they want to achieve or what has been their inspiration for their next machine(s) without revealing anything. And they can't do that on a Direct, where they have to show something.
