Does Lack of Backwards Compatibility Device and HD Remakes Tie in Together?

The wiiu might got backwards compatibility but nintendo still released HD remakes and its not true backwards compatible without having the normal wii controler the for majority of games. I think its mainly third party publishers pushing for this trend just like with crossgen.
