Lol, seeing as how neither the consumers nor the industry (gaming industry) cares about HD, I wonder why HD is the media that is growing the most rapidly in the world today?
Oh, I forgot, no one knows the difference and no one cares either.
Seriously, these notions that game companies and dev's will ignore HD alltogether is ludicrous, why are so many so opposed to HD anyway?
Its natural progression, just like Stereo and Color TV in its day.
Is it just because Sony and Microsoft are implementing it? I bet all of you who make this argument hate movies and media with good sound and good pictures, in fact; you probably watch TV in mono sound and in black & white... 
Were you also the ones that whined and roared when DVD's came out and clung to VHS like scared little children?
There are many points that have been recycled far too much in here, and this whole "HD is not the future" is one of them.
