MH4U is easier than the previous ones (or maybe we've become better players, but you will notice the difference), but still very enjoyable. The new mechanics make it faster and more funny (climbing, jumping and "mounting" monsters feels really nice =) ), but I don't find the hunting areas as appealing as the previous ones. Plus, having to hunt enemies that you've hunted ten thousand times before to get to the new, stronger ones gets a little frustrating and time consuming (I've played every MonHun game so I'm tired of Congalalas, Gypceros, Kut Kut's and even Raths. Not Tigrex, of course ^^ ). I also miss some funny monsters from previous games (Barroth, Duramboros...), which would have been more interesting that the ones I mentioned previously.

Regarding the 3DS, I have had the standard one, the XL and the New 3DSXL. GO for New 3DSXL. It is WAY better in every aspect and the new camera button works perfectly with MonHun (and with MM3D, btw), way more comfortable and accesible than the bulky circle pad pro.

So... For me, MH4U is not the definitive MonHun (3Tri was, filled with 15 new monsters instead of rebumping older ones, even if there were only 18 monsters in total, which may look not enough compared to others, but definitly WAS thanks to 90% of them being new and the variety added by water combat, free hunting and awesome areas). It is, however, extremely fun and enjoyable, so I fou like MH do not hessitate (do not hessitate if you don't like it, either ;) ).
