Splatoon post-launch plans - is it good?

I rather have a more complete game on my disc than on DLC, there is a reason why I don't buy digital only games, so if almost half the game is DLC (even free one), is best if I pass on it.

Splatoon should not be bought without online access, so I don't see how that's a problem or even changes anything really.
