I really don't get the whole "not worth $60" thing. Come on, it has a full fleshed out single player campaign, the big level up system and customization/upgrading gear and stuff, some other things I'm forgetting about and 2 multiplayer modes with 5 probably excellent maps at launch.

It might not be much, but I'm sure a lot of the people saying that are the same who bought Mario Kart 8 without a moment's hesitation. You know, I got 100% in that game in like, 2 days, and that's considering I was learning it from scratch as I hadn't played Mario Kart games before. It was very short on content compared to most games these days (and to some extent even compared to prior MK games), yet no one cared because it was Mario Kart and everyone knows how much it can keep us entertained for a long time.

Splatoon has far more content (or at least variety of content) than MK8 at launch and will be a completely fleshed out experience for free in 3 months, while MK8 took twice as long to get its first DLC pack.

You win this thread. My thoughts exactly.

OT, Demo convinced me to get the game day one.  I just finished watching the Nintendo direct on Splatoon got me even more pumped for it.
