I have been playing driving games since I can remember both on the co-op scene and later in consoles. This game is hyped beyond belief and as most hyped releases in recent years truly disatisfying.
What I do not like:
The gameplay> Driving games are for driving. With pCars I feel like I am playing Waverace on N64 i.e. surfing on water. Or perhaps Wipeout...The cars do not behave real like in Forza Motorsport or F355 challenge where you feel the car going off in a turn and you can do something about it.
The menus> Endless customizations. Where is the start button? I just want to play....
The size of menus> This is obviously made with PC gamers in mind. The on screen menus are so small you can only read if you see a metre away, not in your sofa 3-4 metres away ( I own a 50 inch TV)
The AI> Finally the choice of Microsoft to deliver the drivatars shows why anything less is now a cheat. The AI in this game is brutal and unsatisfying. Sorry, but I would prefer playing against a digital human anytime.
The gameplay> your time not recorded when thrown off track? WTF? Especially when the AI throws you there? When was the last time you were not off track on a driving game? I have completed 10 games not to have even one finished since I was off track in every one of them. And how about when the AI threw me off and then I get penalised?
The graphics> I am not a graphic whore but if punters customers opened their eyes they would see how empty the environment is compared to the likes of FM. Reminds me of N64 games
The good points:
Two of the views offered. One with the camera from the side of the driver like above his right shoulder. The second a POV looking though the helmet. Both to the best of my knowledge original.
Choice of cars from the word go. You do not have to work hard to ride a LeMans or F2 car
In Gods we trust. Dattebayo...
