SM3DW has higher sales for the moment than SSBU.
Why do other examples matter? Your reasoning says that Galaxy sold more than 3DW because it's better. You compare 3DW with sales of MK8 and SSB4 (on two different platforms) to somehow prove more people were willing to buy Galaxy over 3DWorld. Yet MKWii outsold Galaxy 3:1.
You also ignored SMG2 which "only" sold around 7 million copies. And lastly, 3DWorld isn't done selling yet, SMG2 is.
