Just my opinion 3DS is overtracked because old year.

3DS in 2015 is undertracked according to NPD, the Japan numbers are confirmed ecc... 3DS is for sure overtracked in some years like 2011 to 2014.

The reason seem obvius... 3DS according to VGChartz sell more in the Europe than in the US. that is ridiculus.

The gap US - EU is probabily only 10% less, but 3DS to sell in 3 intere years (2012 to 2014) more in Europe than in the US is not possible.

A good portion of the 3DS overtracking is from before this quarter, but there was definitely overtracking this year as well.  At the end of 2014 VGC had the 3DS at 50.104m (Jan 3).  Shipments were at 50.41m (Dec 31).  So while that number is probably overtracked, VGC still showed 300k+ on shelves.  Now, 3 months later VGC has the 3DS at 52.15m (Mar 28) versus 52.06m shipped (Mar 31).  So some significant overtracking definitely occured over the three months.

I agree though that it is likely due to Europe/Rest of World.

EDIT: If the 3DS is undertracked in the US I don't think it is by a significant amount.

Jan - Don't believe we got a confirmed number, but someone towards the end of the thread said 74k.  VGC shows 93k

Feb - NPD 395k.  VGC 382k.

Mar - NPD 263k.  VGC with 1 week to go 201k.  Unless that last week sees a big boost it will probably be around 245k.

So overall that would be undertracked, but only by 12k.  Less than 2%.
