I have the same issue. I don't use taunts myself unless I expect to be able to finish the taunt before they can get to me, so when someone else does it, i just generally treat it as if they must just be cocky or something and so i smack em.

But then again, i always hate when anime and movies stop in the middle of a fight so they can converse with each other anyway. That's why I have my taun t's seperated 3 ways: Just KOd you = I've cast Judgment, if you KOd me, and I KOd you back, or alternately, you won a match against me and I won one against you = Vengeance is Mine! and if I'm doing really badly, or just generally am not expecting to win, but I still have half a moment, I might do the 3rd taunt which is "Have I lost?"

So basically, all of my taunts are to be used AFTER or BETWEEN clashes, not in the middle of them.

 

I have 4 taunts when I Brawl:

Nice.  - I use this when someone does something really cool/clever whether it's KOing me or someone else or just doing something amazing.

Erm? - I use this after I suicide or when my opponent does something strange or confusing (like suiciding or just standing around doing nothing).

:)  - I use this when something makes me smile.  ^_^

Lag? - I use this when I'm experiencing lots of lag.  Just a general heads up of "Hey I'm having problems over here."
