Quite tricky this one they operate like they're second party but I think they may actually be first party, Nintendo must own shares or something as all of HL's work is co-owned by Nintendo. I think HL are like Monolith, first party but have freedom or HL must have someone who owns them or most of the shares that is an owner or strong affiliate of Nintendo.
