Plus the original DS started at 149$.  Which is cheaper than OP suggested.  

In addition, the original Wii costed 249$ for a few years before it dropped it's price.  So it likely would not have lost money.  Because it'd be selling more, itd also sell a lot more games.  

I'm saying that it would be about $100 because there would have to be a price cut from the launch price. Starting with $169, it will have to be cut to maybe $120, but eventually to $100. May be wrong about this, but that's what I'm thinking

 

We'll 2DS is $129.99 so that's a reasonable price to expect.
