I wouldn't pay much attention to what Bethesda does - they're still stuck with their bad choice of engine for Morrowind, and no matter how much they've rewritten it's still hampering them. (IIRC, funny thing is that Morrowind was more fluid in streaming new zones/cells than anything after it).

Anyone remember how Bethesda was hyping their all-new engine for Skyrim? Yeah, people actually believed that. Bethesda really needs to do something about their engine. Rather, they need a completely new engine, I reckon. Their current one seems pretty flawed.

Agreed, they really need a new engine, and not just a slightly improved version of their previous engine, that's all Creation Engine was, an improved version of Gamebryo. They said that they'd be using the Creation Engine for one more game after Skyrim though, so I'd guess that Fallout 4 will be using Creation unfortunately. With any luck they'll use a much better engine for TES 6, though we probably won't see it announced for another 3 or 4 years considering how long it's taken them to make Fallout 4 so far.

I was hoping they would be using the Rage Engine... it was awesome for Rage...  (still hoping for a Rage 2)... I know mega textures didnt work out perfect on PS3/XB360, but it still looked stunning at times.
