Average video game commercial for the early 2000s.
I mean seriously would it have been so hard to come up with a interesting scenario that would actually GRAB attention. It shows gameplay which is fine but how many of the actual blockbuster games out there JUST have narration and game play shots? Don't know who is in charge of advertising in NoA but how they haven't been fired yet is odd.
I mean last few decent advertising campaigns I've seen on tv for Nintendo have been Smash 4, Bayonetta 2 and Fire Emblem: Awakening. Bayonetta 2 and FE: Awakening, mainly worked because of the high quality cinematic cutscenes shown that were shown for those games along with gameplay. Everything else... I never see on TV or were pretty boring.
And for a premise like Splatoon which can easily be tied to things like paintball of water guns, you'd think maybe hiring a decent narrator or actor to help grab attention would be obvious since the game has no known recognizable characters yet.
