That's like saying we wouldn't talk about a Souls game made by some unknown team instead of From Software.

Well duh, these developers have proven themselves, so we put more faith in them.

The premise of the OP is that this kickstarter proves that a significant number of people want more 3D Platformers.  I'm saying it does not prove that point, but rather that people want this game made by these developers.  It proves that linking a project to classic IP can garner attention.  That's not the same as proving there is a potential goldmine in the 3D Platforming genre.  Do you understand what I'm saying now?  I don't know if I can make it any more simple for you than that.
