Unless the game gets like 20 million pounds, publishers won't care.
The game has 19k backers now, let's go crazy and say the game gets 10 times the backers it has now, that means around 190k (this is waaaaay too much, considering Might No.9 had 67k but lets go all crazy).
Will 200k backers change the mind of a publisher? of course not, a million might, but no lower than that.
Actual sales is what matter, if the game (when it comes out) gets 1 million+ sales, then yeah some publishers might try to play around with 3D platforms more.
