Your first source doesn't prove that Xbox One is overtracked.

As of 27th December 2014 VGC has PS4 + Xbox One at 29,099,613.
That is over 29m so you are proving VGC to be correct rather than incorrect.

27 December, so, still not years end.

As for 3 Jan 2015, VGChartz have XBO+PS4 at 29,705,841... 700k off.

We know that PS4 is at 18,500,000 by end of 2014, so, 200k overtracked for PS4 and 500k overtracked fot XBO seem true.

Also, XBO is over even for start 2015, so, maybe +600,000 overtracked?
