You can thank the rise in popularity of Persona for SMT's success/ awareness. Before Persona 3 I had no clue what SMT was but now that I played the Persona games I bought SMT IV since it was by the same company that made Persona.

Considering the DS userbase in Japan (where this games target audience is) was about 10 million users larger than the PS2's I'd say this is a draw.

P.S. Last time I checked, Bayonetta 2 is only 7 months old.
