One note of caution. No biggie in the long run but some investors may get spooked.

MSFT may well have to do a one time write down, perhaps in the billions, regarding their mobile phone operations in the not too distant future.

Similar to what they did in 2012 with AQuantitive (that one was over $6billion) and what Sony has done recently with their mobile business. This is a one time event and does not affect underlying operating income. It does however result in a reduction in net profit for the evnt (possibly producing a loss) and grabs headlines, particularly from outlets that have no clue.

Markets are aware of this now though and yet the stock keeps climbing. So analysts dont seem to bothered right now.

MSFT up another 1.94% at $48.96 at the moment, thats up 13% since the results.

I did not expect it to be up again today or yesterday even. I sold a dollar 60 ago. Man, what a waste. I don't see any current downside for re-entry until the write-down.

When do you think this will occur?

No idea.  But there will be another warning probably.  I cant see it rising much more surely.  Likely to fall back a little.

Microsoft is up thanks to Pacific Crest upgrading Microsoft's stock. And I personally would wait and see on the Nokia writedown.
