| Kaiser said: WiiFit was expected from the beggining to be a major success, at least, people who know how easy and accesible games like this are marketed and ultimately how fun they are. Regardless of some people hating on the "non" games (they still ARE videogames regardless of that term that's used ever so frequently lately), the fact of the matter is that WiiFit, WiiSports, and one of the first "non-games" to be marketed in the Nintendo DS and Wii era, Brain Age, are still a heck of a lot of fun.
It all comes down to the marketing to actually reach out to those people that have no understanding of videogames though. In the end, this market expansion is good; In a few years from now we can expect the Videogame Industry to be considered as big and as well respected as any other Industry in the entertaiment business.
It doesn't matter if us 'gamers' want WiiFit or not, the people that are most interested is the casual gaming people. The same people that have fun playing WiiSports. And of course, I am interested in the title and WILL be getting come launch day here in the Americas, and the same type of success can be expected over here too I would think. So good for them. |
