| RolStoppable said: That's the worst Gametrailers review I've seen so far. Their mistake is that they look at the game being dumbed down, while in reality it's them being the ones dumbed down. The biggest shortcomings of the game they mention, are their own faults, not the game's. But this isn't the first MK:Wii review that has some hidden hate in it, because the Wii wheel is broadening the targeted audience. 1. The miniturbo solely depends on how long you hold the button. This is wrong. If you steer inside during a corner, the turbo charges up faster. Which means that approaching corners at the right angle becomes important. If you start sliding too soon, you have to correct your slide by steering to the outside which makes you get the miniturbo slower. Over the course of three laps this adds up. 2. Winning 150cc GPs depends for the most part on luck. This is wrong again. If you know how to play the game (see point 1), you can solely rely on your skill to win gold cups. 3. The playing field in multiplayer is much more even because the game has been simplified. Wrong again. Average players stand no chance against veterans. 4. Losing all balloons in battle mode does nothing. Wrong again. Your team receives a minus point. |
150cc has always depended a little on luck. Obviously knowing the tracks helps, but I think the main complaint is that there are more cheap items than before and they come up more often. When players are of similar skill there's a lot of luck involved. That's every Mario Kart. Losing all balloons doesn't eliminate you? Surely there's a last man standing mode? Ugh. What's the score?
