It certainly looks like it. MS has thrown out tons of changes that would seem like acts of desperation such as hardware price drops, peripheral removals, 3rd party franchise buy outs, xbox live subscription changes, drm policy flip flop and whatnot. All with a result that means decreasing or at best stagnating sales. A casual observer would think that MS is running out of tricks up their sleeve to gain steam and might have to hope for a generation with as little losses as possible. It is funny how the network effect they themselves created and enjoyed so much in last gen is now bleeding them dry. Sadly the market isn't big enough for 3 players anylonger and right now it looks like either nintendo or Microsoft will need to realize that pulling out is the most viable option, the only question remaining is who is most stubborn. Nintendo is already heading down the road, devaluing their software by putting it on mobile, whereas MS could be switching more and more to PC in preparation for a shutdown come next gen. Interesting times ahead no doubt
