I mean, you can get them or not?  That's true for all DLC.  They're literally developing DLC and putting it on toys so more people will buy them.  Exactly as he said, they're doing it on Day One because that's where the money is at.

While I understand your logic and agree, the amiibo can be used in others games, so is not that overpriced

I don't really know much about the total potential value the Splatoon Amiibo hold, so you might have a good point there.  However, I still think each individual piece of DLC for each individual game should be avaliable for purchase on the Nintendo online store.  After all, someone might not want to buy the other games for which that specific Amiibo offers DLC.
