I finally made it through the hobbit:
Unexpected Journey 8/10
Desolation of Smaug 7/10
Battle of the 5 armies 5/10

I watched it as a miniseries, 1 hour at a time was enough. The sound is the best part, excellent surround effects. Visuals look a bit too much like a video game cut scene, especially the action parts. Story is fine until the last movie.
Ugh that last movie. The first 10 minutes belong to the previous movie and is a bit of an anti climax. The rest looks as if Peter Jackson wanted to play a game of Dynasty warriors with all the CGI assets, and mixed it together with Les Miserables. I half expected them to burst out in song a few times.
I'll watch that everything wrong with the 5 armies now :)

American Crime is surprisingly good. Most of the tension comes from me expecting the plot to fall off the tight rope yet somehow they manage to keep it going.
