To further emphasise my point. We don't pretend the Wii didn't exist. The Wii was an anomaly when you consider Nintendo consoles sold less with each gen. Then the ps2 was an anomally and sony home consoles have been declining since the ps.

That doesn't make any sense. You seem to be under the idea that consumers can't come and go. the wii was bought by many ps owners from the previous gen, as well as people that bought N64 and snes but not the gamecube.
