If it sells something like 8 million for the rest of this year (it should be up from last year) it will be at around 60 million at the end of the year. That would mean like 15 million for the rest of its life to hit the 75 million mark. I see NX being announced at E3 2016 and the handheld version releasing either holiday 2016 or early 2017, depending on region. That means the 3DS could sell something like 6-10 million in 2016. That will bring it to something like 66 million - 70 million by the release of NX. I expect the 3DS to get a large price-cut on all models and it could possibly sell the 5-9 million it needs after NX releases until its discontinuation (probably early 2018.) I expect its sales to end somewhere between 70 million and 75 million, probably closer to 70 million.
