Joke Answer: Weed
Serious Answer: Excercise. Yeah, it sounds lame, but seriously. The 'runner's high' isn't a myth, and it's not just from runs. Your body releases endorphins that basically put you in a good mood, even if you're depressed.
Weightlifting, jogging, whatever. Start slow. As you improve, you'll suprise yourself, raise yourself esteem, and form a productive habit to boot.
If that's not your thing...you just need to find a cause/purpose. Yeah, that sounds like a Disney movie, but I'm serious. Whether it's to write a book you've always wanted to write, get the job you've always wanted, save up for a trip you've always wanted to make...as long as you have something to focus on, it can help a lot with depression.
That, and don't dwell on the past. That's the worst.
Also, blaring Techno usually shakes you out of a bad mood.
Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.
