I think people have this movie's storyline pegged all wrong. Well, maybe. They think it's Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns storyline. Batman with a power rifle is odd so maybe there'll be a little of that, but I think the storyline will pull more from the Legends storyline. A few things point in that direction. 1.) The humans hating meta-humans overtone. 2.) The Legends storyline launched the Suicide Squad in the comics. The Suicide Squad movie will come out before the proper Justice League movie. 3.) Darkseid was the real villain behind the Legends storyline, and, in The New 52, Darkseid is the reason for the formation of the Justice League. The Justice League will have its origins in this movie, but I don't expect Darkseid to play the main part until the proper Justice League film. This is the precursor and will be about his underlings and harbingers.
I signed up to vent this. It's not Frank Miller, and I'm tired of reading about this being Dark Knight Returns. Don't be fooled.
